It’s All About Balance!
It’s no secret that the college life is a busy one, and post-grad is full of transitions and change. Both of these seasons are full of changing schedules, lots of adjusting, and constantly trying to find a balance between working and maintaining a social life. Let’s talk about the importance of and how to find the balance work and personal life!
Finding the balance between work and personal life is always so hard to find, but it’s important to achieve. When this balance isn’t reached, there is either a lack of productivity, or a neglection of meaningful relationships in our personal lives. It’s easy to get caught up in the stress of everyday life and our to-do lists, but it’s so important that we continue to make time for the friendships around us that are life-giving.
What This Means For Us
Now that we’ve talked a little bit about the importance in finding the balance between work and personal life, we want to give you a few tangible ways to help you find a good balance!
– Be sure to honor your Sabbath! It’s important to make sure you take a day to rest, reset, and honor all of the blessings the Lord has given us!
– Removing work from your mobile devices. Sometimes when we have all of our work utilities at the tip of our fingertips, we’re more prone to check them during unconventional hours. Removing work platforms from your phone will lessen the amount of time spent on work during non-normal business hours!
– Set boundaries on what times you will work, and honor those times. Setting these structured times will help keep a schedule for yourself that will help you honor the commitments you make outside of work, making more time for your personal life.
– Give yourself grace! Achieving this kind of balance takes a long time and a lot of trial and error. It’s important to give yourself grace and set attainable goals.
