It Takes A Village…
Hey KAIO Fam! Let’s talk about life-giving community. It’s no secret that it takes a village to navigate life’s hard seasons. We were made for community, and desiring community is a GOOD thing!! However sometimes it may feel hard or overwhelming to think about where to even start, and how to cultivate this community in your own life. We’ve talked about the importance of life-giving community and surrounding yourself with like-minded people, but we want to equip you with some tangible ways to being cultivating this community in your day to day life. So let’s get into it!
How To Cultivate Community
Here are some great ways to begin cultivating community around you. It may not always be easy, and some days may be harder than others, but we hope that by sharing some tips and tricks you may feel more equipped and less intimidated at the thought of cultivating community!:
- Pray that the Lord will bring these people into your life at the right time, and in the right season. The Lord’s plan is perfect, and His timing is always exactly right. Praying that the Lord’s will be done, and that he brings the exact people into your life is important! Additionally, praying that the Lord provides patience during the waiting is also extremely important!
- Get plugged in at your church! This is a great way to not only build community with like-minded people, but also actively serving the kingdom of God! Plus, there are so many ways to get involved, whether it be a small group, children’s ministry, or other serving opportunity. Be sure to check out what events your church may have coming up, and get plugged in!
- Put yourself out there! Be quick to make friends, get to know people, and be intentional. A lot of times, you’ll only get out what you put in. Whenever you’re at a social event or a party, it may take you getting out of your comfort zone and meeting new people. Typically community won’t just fall into your lap. So be sure to lean into the people around you, and be quick to introduce yourself.
